LEVEL DESIGNER
Responsibilities
Looking for talented and experienced level designers eager to join our accomplished team of designers. Designers are responsible for the layout and construction of game environments. In addition to physical construction, the company also expects designers to proactively contribute creative gameplay ideas throughout the game creation process. The ability to balance aesthetic and gameplay needs with technical limitations is necessary to achieve the breakthrough worlds the company creates. Applicants should provide specific examples of relevant work. These examples can be in the form of playable game levels, screenshots, scripting examples, video captures, or any other method that conveys the work being demonstrated. Examples should also include descriptions of exactly what the applicant is responsible for and what creative processes were used.
Requirements

- Producing articulate documentation detailing innovative game design content and features which is stylistically appropriate for each project; including story lines, mission walkthroughs (with floor plans), character biographies and behaviors, control systems, interface design, and asset inventories.
- Roughing out world geometry, camera paths, and other game elements to establish fun and compelling gameplay
- Placing, triggering, and tuning entities (such as characters, movers, and objects) to create fun, absorbing gameplay within assigned levels.
- Mastering internal tools for scripting and implementing gameplay.
- Collaborate with Lead Designer, Lead Level Designer and Design team to refine gameplay mechanics and implementation.
- Collaborate with Art and Engineering teams to refine gameplay and overall player experience
- Creatively resolving gameplay and production issues.
- Meeting production schedules and deadlines.
- Mentoring other Level Designers with guidance on particular techniques, tools, processes and/or best practices as required
Requirements
- Expert level design skills and theory with an understanding of industry and business needs as they relate to level design
- Proven level design experience. Minimum of 5 years design experience in the industry with 3 or more shipped titles. Experience on multiple platforms and game genres a definite plus
- Detailed knowledge of all aspects of game production.
- Effective communication, management, and organization skills. This position requires interfacing with other disciplines and working to create and maintain production schedules, design team tasks, asset lists, etc
- Excellent creative skills. Demonstrated ability to innovate while working within established IP, design and technical limitations
- High personal standards as demonstrated in quality and pride of work
- Proven experience with standard production software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Project) is a requirement, and experience with design tools such as (Visio, Maya or other 3D modeling programs) is a definite plus
- Able to learn new techniques and tools quickly and effectively.

Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Designer for a leadership role on upcoming projects. This opportunity involves creating and maintaining the design direction of the project, providing leadership, working with other disciplines, and managing other members of the design staff. This position reports to the Creative Director.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for executing design tasks as scheduled by the Lead Designer
- Must continually push the creative envelop and strive to make the best game possible within the project’s constraints

- Must maintain effective working relationships within the design team and the other disciplines

Requirements
- The right candidate is well versed in at least one area of game design (including but not limited to mechanics design, level design, system design, and content design).
- Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years design experience with at least one 1 shipped title, or equivalent.
