SENIOR/EXEC PRODUCER (TMMA4047) Quincy, MA
Summary
Looking for a Producer for our next game project. This person will manage the development operations of the entire Boston studio as well as coordinate activities with our Australia studio. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with one of the premiere development teams in the industry.
The producer is considered to be the ‘heart’ of the development team. The ideal candidate will embrace the creative tension of the development process, striving for quality at every turn while actively managing to stay within the constraints of budget and time. This person must be able to listen and react to the needs of the project and confidently direct the team to meet those requirements. We believe that great game producers must be capable of thinking on their feet and of responding flexibly to an ever-changing development environment.
Responsibilities
- Conceive and organize a project structure that effectively balances the creative and the practical.
- Collaborate with and manage the time, focus, and priorities of Creative Director, during all aspects of the development cycle.
- Work with leads and stakeholders to build a quality-focused, cost-aware project plan (budget, milestones, headcount, schedule)
- Maintain and update project schedules to reflect current project realities.
- Clearly communicate tasks and responsibilities to staff and external contractors
- Work with leads and HR staff to grow the studio in order take on new challenges and expand our development expertise and capacity.
- Identify risks and put in place risk management strategies
- Facilitate communication and cooperation in the project team
- Manage relationship with publisher and other third parties
- Coordinate with team leads and goal-based “strike teams” to triage, prioritize, and delegate project tasks
- Devise and establish development and company processes that nurture, challenge, and grow the team to reach their highest potential.
- Manage cross-time zone, cross studio development, finding the most graceful solutions to the personal and management challenge of coordinating teams on opposite sides of the world.
Requirements
- Minimum five years experience in the games industry
- Must have shipped at least 2 AAA titles in a producer, development director, or project lead role
- Experience managing a large scale software development project (40+ development staff over 2+ years)
- Experience shipping console game titles including dealing with manufacturer approval processes
- Demonstrated ability to lead the development of great products, both critically and commercially.
- Understanding of key technical issues involved with console and PC game development
- Experience with scheduling tools
- Experience managing a project budget
- Excellent people skills including the ability to motivate people and inspire their creative talents
- Experience managing conflict
- Experience in risk analysis and mitigation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Willingness to be flexible with hours when working with resources on the other side of the world.

Looking for experienced video game engineers from all disciplines. Successful candidates will work closely with a team of engineers, designers, and artists for an online video game project currently in preproduction. Director of Game Technology (TMMA1070)
Description
The Director of Game Technology is responsible for managing the internal game technology team and reports to the CTO. This position will direct the daily activities of a skilled team of software engineers by performing such duties as project management, task prioritization, risk assessment, interdepartmental coordination, budgeting, hiring, firing, employee growth, and technology partner management.
This role is primarily focused on project and personnel management. Although candidates are expected to be highly technical, there will be only rare opportunities to write code. This position will influence the company's game technology architecture and help to develop a roadmap for the creation of that technology.
The candidate should have experience working in a multi-project environment and be able to detail past successes in managing a multi-discipline engineering team. The candidate should demonstrate expertise and passion in the field of video games and video game technology.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of game technology
- Identify areas of technical risk and create risk mitigation plans
- Serve as the liaison between projects teams; gathering requirements and following through
- Make staffing recommendations and decisions within the game technology team
- Manage research and development on cutting-edge online gaming technologies to be used across multiple development teams
- Help to establish and maintain relationships with technology partners
- Stay informed of new hardware and software developments and offer insight and experience as to what technologies should be developed
- Contribute to the overall technical position of the company
- Contribute to and enforce engineering standards and articulate general philosophies for software engineering

Qualifications
- At least 8 years experience in the game industry which includes design and implementation of game software
- At least 4 years of experience as a lead engineer
- At least 4 years of experience dealing with personnel management
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Platforms: XP/Vista, Linux
- Languages: C, C++ (with a strong OOP background), SQL, Perl
- Networking: TCP/IP, UDP/IP
- SDK: DirectX, Havok, Granny, Bink, and other 3rd party game technologies

LEAD ARTIST/ART DIRECTOR (JGMA2053)
Responsibilities
- Schedule and delegate the creation and maintenance of art assets to the team's artists as required by the Production staff.
- Verify that art assets are completed on schedule and meet the requirements of the target platform
- Work closely with design, production and code departments to help define visual style and fulfill art production requirements
- Work with producers to find creative solutions when problems arise, evaluate feature, schedule, and resource trade-offs, and make informed, long-term recommendations
- Develop, master and maintain knowledge of the development tools and processes, target platform requirements, and competitive products
- Understand advantages and limitations of target hardware and develop strategies for maximizing platform performance
- Maintain familiarity with other in-house development efforts to encourage the collaborative use of existing technology whenever possible
- Provide on-going training and support to art team on utilized software tools;
- Assist in the development of concept materials and production designs as required
- Participate in the selection and supervision of Artists, both internally and externally, as needed and as required.
Requirements
- Excellent fine art skills with broad knowledge of illustration, art design, and animation, with the ability to imitate and adapt to the unique artistic styles of different licenses and games
- Experience with technical art creation using a high end 3D art package: Maya, 3DSMax or other 3D packages
- Experience using standard production software. Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and additional 2D packages
- Minimum of four games shipped with at least 1 game shipped in a lead capacity
