After entering the recruiting business in 1996, T.J. co-founded Digital Artist Management in February 2000 with Andy Cheren. T.J. oversees the entire recruiting, account management and administrative staff at Digital Artist Management (DAM). He has managed teams as large as 20 employees and is directly involved in the strategic planning, resource allocation and execution of DAM's contingency recruiting, contract staffing and retained search services. T.J. was responsible for setting up the corporate infrastructure of sister companies DAM Consultants and Production Road and plays a vital role in the unified vision, values and people strategy for the three business units. T.J has served as a panelist on topics related to creative talent at a variety of interactive entertainment events including: Game Developers Conference (GDC), University of Southern California, TiE Rockies and the Art Institute of California.
As one of two founders, Andy Cheren and his partner T.J. Summers launched Digital Artist Management (DAM) in February 2000. Under his co-direction, DAM has become the largest and most respected recruiting and staffing firm dedicated exclusively to the needs of the digital entertainment industry. Since inception, DAM has provided services for over 400 developers, publishers and production companies that have developed some of the most successful video games, feature films, and new media that the industry has to offer. Andy has been responsible for leading the business development and sales efforts of DAM and for building the teams that have brought these high profile franchises to fruition. Since co-founding Production Road in early 2007, Andy has spearheaded the sales, production and business development efforts for DAM’s sister company Production Road and was directly responsible for acquiring several of Production Road’s deals with groups like Activision, Electronic Arts, and Sony to name a few.
In 2004, Mr. Stark joined the team at Digital Artist Management in an effort to expand the company’s service offerings to include full-service contract staffing in the video game industry as well as contract and permanent placement services for complimentary business verticals such as visual effects studios, mobile games & application developers, new media developers and emerging tools & technology companies. He was responsible for establishing the infrastructure, building the client base and bringing the DAM Consultants division to market. In January 2009, Mr. Stark was attached to DAM’s sister company Production Road as VP of Business Development to help generate new business and manage external game development initiatives. He is now supporting new business development and account management for both companies concurrently. Prior to Digital Artist Management, Mr. Stark was responsible for building and managing the sales team for an internet start-up called Virtual Relocation. Under his direction, he significantly grew and managed the company’s sales staff and increased annual revenues 40x which ultimately led to its acquisition by TMP Worldwide/Monster.com.
